CHAPEL BARN ESTATE

SIBTON PARK ESTATE

A LUXURY BARN WEDDING VENUE

It’s entirely possible to host up to 300 guests in our largest indoor space at Chapel Barn, the centrepiece of Chapel Bar Estate. Following champagne and restaurant-quality nibbles, guests may then step through its triple-height steel-and-glass doors into an atmosphere best described as ‘laid-back luxury’ for superlative barn wedding ceremonies and receptions.

This newly restored 15th-century barn wedding venue is remarkable for its traditional artisan workmanship, most notably the one-of-a-kind stained-glass window at the head of the building, the beautiful lime mortar walls and its oak-timber frame. The attention to detail here is among the most meticulous on the entire estate, but what’s most important is the bright and cheerful feel it will give your Wilderness wedding.

GETTING MARRIED IN CHAPEL BARN

Chapel Barn has been designed so that the wedding ceremony, reception, breakfast or party may also be hosted in the enclosed grassy courtyard directly outside. Imagine a champagne reception unfolding to the strains of a string quartet or acoustic jazz band before sitting down at rustic style long tables for your all-important wedding breakfast.

Within the surrounding buildings there is luxury accommodation, a cinema, gym and indoors pool. Though perhaps the most exciting part of Chapel Barn is its spa, with dedicated treatment rooms. It’s a space for brides and their bridesmaids to prepare hair and make-up ahead of the big day and then pamper themselves after it.

CHAPEL BARN ESTATE

A ROMANTIC COUNTRY HOUSE WEDDING VENUE

In all, you may accommodate up to 27 people at Sibton Park manor house.

Sibton Park manor house is one of our star properties. Picture a stately Georgian country house wedding venue, found at the end of a long winding driveway, with views onto Sibton Park lake. About the place are our grazing sheep and cows, along with an ever-increasing number of bird species decorating the mature oak trees that frame your view.

You may hire Sibton Park on its own for the day or as part of bespoke and exclusive-use wedding weekend, in conjunction with Wilderness Reserve’s other extraordinary accommodation options. We offer a quintessentially English setting for your unique countryside wedding to match even the romantic moments from fiction.

For small wedding ceremonies, we’re particularly fond of the Drawing Room, with its precious hand-painted botanical wallpaper and ornate marble fireplace. There you may tie the knot as part of a civil ceremony for up to 100 of your nearest and dearest before, perhaps, moving onto our remarkable Orangery wedding reception venue.

WEDDING BREAKFASTS IN THE ORANGERY

Floor-to-ceiling French sash windows fill the black-and-white tiled space with a soft Suffolk sunshine. The photos in here, once it is decorated to your tastes and filled with our florist’s radiant creations, are some of the most majestic on offer here at Wilderness Reserve. One bride described feeling as if she were Marie Antoinette at her very own Versaille.

Guests may spill out onto the Orangery’s adjoining terrace, to absorb the arcadian splendour of our serene lake and gentle English landscape. Large wedding receptions may use the terrace to erect marquees or stretch tents, thus creating a seamless extension from the Orangery, which will then be free for cake cutting, speeches or the first dance.

WOODLAND WEDDING VENUES

Outdoor wedding venues are numerous across our 5,000 acre estate, though one of the most remarkable can be found a short stroll away, among the trees. A Woodland wedding at Wilderness Reserve may be assembled for 24 to 400 guests. Here, English nature, in all its soft pastoral beauty, takes centre stage for your wedding ceremony, breakfast and party.

Nature-loving couples seeking a bohemian outdoor wedding may wish to organise their ceremony in Kendall's Wood, where a natural arch of mature evergreen oak tree form a natural aisle for you and your partner to walk down. Either side, seating can be laid out with traditional chairs or take a rustic turn with decorated hay bales.

One of our favourite ways to deliver an outdoor wedding breakfast is with a woodland Fire Feast. The Estate Kitchen’s talented chefs cook a four-course banquet using the cream of Suffolk’s famous local produce to create a rustic dining experience, counterbalanced by the elegance of cut-crystal glasses and dramatic candle light.

LAKESIDE WEDDING VENUES

Wilderness Reserve is blessed with a handful of bucolic lakeside settings for your outdoor wedding celebration. Such picturesque locations are suited to both small and large wedding parties, spanning 24 to 400 people, with space to accommodate up to 200 overnight guests across both Sibton Park and Chapel Barn estates.

Wedding ceremonies at the edge of the lake take on a particularly romantic air, one suited to those keen on channelling the best of the past. Nature-lovers will enjoy the accompaniment of grazing cows and sheep, along with a riot of bird species, who’ve recently returned to this part of Suffolk due to our careful management of the land.

If a festival-themed wedding venue forms part of your master plan, then please enquire about our tepee wedding venues. They’re particularly well suited to one-day weddings, though may, of course, feature as part of an exciting weekend wedding. Reception guests may enjoy a glass of English fizz on the accompanying jetty, whose vista takes in the best of Chapel Barn estate.
