Wedding accommodation at Wilderness Reserve

A Georgian manor house, traditional barns, luxury cottages and Suffolk farmhouses – all here for your wonderful Wilderness wedding

A ROMANTIC COUNTRY HOUSE WEDDING VENUE

There is a village atmosphere at Wilderness Reserve that guests are quick to remark on. This can be a major draw for those wishing to book an exclusive-use wedding. We find that having all of your family and friends in luxury accommodation just a few minutes’ cycle or walk away makes the lead up so much more leisurely – and therefore enjoyable.
Being able to drop in on the in-laws for brunch at their charming restored barn and then pedalling on to your bridesmaids’ cottage for a glass of fizz sounds like the sort of thing one might do at a destination holiday wedding. And yet Wilderness Reserve is only two hours outside of London, folded into the gentle embrace of Suffolk’s glorious countryside.
All of the properties at Wilderness Reserve have been built or restored to respect old-world Suffolk architecture and style, which extends to the use of traditional materials and artisanal building methods. The result is a series of luxury properties that respect the abundant nature around them, while allowing their guests to immerse themselves in the best of the past.

Sibton Park

And yet what’s remarkable here is that our rose-tinted wedding accommodation options have none of the snags, drafts and dust of a traditional English holiday cottage. Underfloor heating, top-spec appliances and cutting-edge tech are present, but are designed to never distract you from the simple pleasure of a unique countryside wedding experience. Finally, we should note that your food & drink offering across our wedding accommodation options spans self-catering (we are happy to unpack your Waitrose delivery in advance of your arrival) through to your own talented chef, who’ll prepare and serve on site. Alternatively, we can provide a little hamper with everything you’ll need to conjure your own fabulous feast. Read on for details – including capacity figures – on our luxury manor house, barns, cottages, farmhouses and other one-off properties.

Walled Garden

This restored Victorian-style Walled Garden has a reputation for being a rather well-appointed party pad. Perhaps that’s why it’s often snapped up by the groom and his ushers, keen on letting loose in private. It sleeps 16 people in eight double bedrooms – all but two have roll-top baths.
The expansive garden is quite the spot for lawn games, drinks and barbecues, and you’ll find a hot tub and sauna discreetly positioned at the far corner of the lawn. The building, a contemporary take on a traditional glasshouse, has a light-filled games room, lounge and dining area, all fit for bacchanalian gatherings.

Moat Cottage

At the top of the hill on Chapel Barn estate is our show-stopping Moat Cottage. As the name suggests, it is surrounded by a tranquil body of water that seems to amplify the comfort of privacy and one’s connection with nature. Indeed, the sunsets here are among our finest. Moat Cottage sleeps 12 people.
Take the two-person rowboat out for a romantic spin around the moat, while others busy themselves with a bottle of fizz in the boathouse’s hot tub. Indoors, Moat Cottage’s convivial dining space is made all the more inviting by its retractable glass-and-steel doors. We see an Instagrammable soirée unfolding for the groomsmen and their partners.

The Wilderness Reserve team

For full immersion into the Wilderness wedding experience, we know that abundant nature and beautiful Suffolk-style architecture are not quite enough. To step back into the past and really feel part of our quintessentially English surroundings, your interactions with our team must feel comfortable and familiar.
Rather than invisible cleaners or slick concierges we have housekeepers, who will drive down in their classic pastel-hued Morris Minors to greet you when you arrive. There’ll been a pot of tea waiting and a slice of cake – the Victoria Sponge with any luck – waiting for you to start your wedding weekend off properly.
In the larger properties – Sibton Park and Chapel Barn – your housekeeper lives on site. While they’re on hand to help you 24 hours a day, our style of service is very much hands-off, because we know that privacy is the first step to feeling like the place is your own. Your housekeeper is there to ensure that your wedding unfolds flawlessly.
